ABOUT

Climate change has become one of the major challenges of the 21st Century. The rate of unprecedented changes in our climate has adversely affected the Global community such that the theme has gained serious momentum of attention from intellectuals, decisions makers, environmental activists and donor agencies.

Civil Alliance for Climate Protection and Education (CACPE) is a Nigerian based Non-Profit dedicated to Climate action and Environmental Sustainability through targeted initiative in Clean energy, Climate-smart Agriculture, Advocacy, Land restoration, Waste management, Biodiversity conservation etc; we work with partners to push for impactful, scalable change. Since its inception, CACPE has reached over 9,300 individuals and planted over 7,000 trees, with 48 Staffs and 110 Volunteers across Nigeria. CACPE collaborates closely with Stakeholders like State and Federal Ministry of Environments, relevant CBOs and CSOs, including Youth and Marginalized groups, to build resilient communities capable of addressing environmental challenges. Our projects focus on Community-based solutions that are in line with global sustainability goals.

PROF. NKIRU THERESA MELUDU

CHAIRMAN BOARD OF TRUSTEES

Prof. Nkiru Theresa Meludu (STA, NF, OKP) is a Professor of Food and Nutrition Security/ Agricultural Extension at Nnamdi Azikiwe university, Awka, Anambra State, Nigeria. She earned her Ph.D in 1998 and became a Professor in the year 2010 from the University of Ibadan. She served as the Head of Department (2017-2021) and Dean, Faculty of Agriculture (2021-2023). Her research focuses on Organic Agriculture, Climate Change, Gender issues, Communication for Change, and Livestock Extension.

She has supervised 32 MSc and 8 Ph.D. students and published over 120 research articles, book chapters and books. She is the President of the Agricultural Extension Society of Nigeria and Home Economics Professional Association of Nigeria. With International Certification including courses from the Netherlands and Ghana, a Post doctoral fellowship in Japan, and attendance at over 10 international conferences, She is a member of National and International Associations and serves on several Boards of trustees.

PROF. RABIA SA'ID

VICE CHAIRMAN BOARD OF TRUSTEES

Professor Rabia Sa’id is the Vice Chairman of CACPE’s Board of Trustees and a Professor of Atmospheric Physics at Bayero University, Kano. Specializing in Climate Change, air pollution monitoring, renewable energy, and atmospheric dynamics, she is also a Research Fellow at the Center for Renewable Energy and Sustainability Transitions (CREST).

She holds a PhD, M.Sc., and B.Sc. in Physics from BUK and an M.Sc. in Environment and Development from the University of Reading, UK. A 2020 Fellow at the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies, Monterey, California, she trained in nuclear nonproliferation, security, and safeguards. In 2021, she won the CRDF grant to conduct trainings on peaceful nuclear uses and build networks among women in nuclear security and nonproliferation. Her work bridges science, policy, and sustainability, making her a key figure in climate and energy research.

AMB. YAHUZA HAMBALI

FOUNDER/CEO

Yahuza Hambali is a passionate climate activist, environmental advocate, and community mobilization expert, dedicated to driving sustainable solutions in Nigeria and beyond. As the Founder & CEO of the Civil Alliance for Climate Protection and Education (CACPE), he leads initiatives that promote climate action, smart agriculture, and clean energy solutions.
With a strong background in environmental management, Yahuza has successfully mobilized communities, empowered youth, and influenced policies to address climate change challenges. He is the current Africa Director for Climate and Environment at International Parliament for Safety, Peace and Justice, Africa. He has collaborated with national and international organizations to implement impactful projects on green economy, climate education, and renewable energy.

Yahuza is a skilled project manager, strategic thinker, and advocate for climate justice. His work focuses on bridging the gap between policies and grassroots action, ensuring vulnerable communities are equipped with sustainable solutions. He remains committed to fostering a resilient and eco-conscious society through innovation, advocacy, and collaboration.

DR. SALISU DALHATU

BOARD MEMBER

Dr. Salisu Dalhatu holds a PhD in Environmental Management, specializing in Soil Erosion and Conservation. As Deputy Project Coordinator and Systems Strengthening Lead for the AGILE Project in Zamfara State, he drives initiatives empowering communities and promoting sustainability. Previously, he served as a UNICEF Consultant and Yobe State Coordinator for the TaRL Programme, excelling in project implementation, capacity building, and evaluation.

With over two decades of experience, Dr. Dalhatu has held key roles at Zamfara State College of Education, including Director of Entrepreneurship and Dean of Student Affairs. A prolific researcher, he has published widely and secured grants, including the TETFund IBR Grant and participation in the NiGrant Project at the University of Cologne, Germany. A certified project management consultant, he collaborates with UNICEF, FCDO, and the World Bank, advancing education, environmental sustainability, and development. His expertise makes him a vital member of our Board of Trustees.

PROF. MELODY NDIDI MODEBELU

BOARD MEMBER

Professor Melody Ndidi Modebelu is a distinguished academic and Researcher in Educational Leadership and Human-Resources Management. Currently, she serves as the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Science Education at Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Nigeria. With expertise in Educational Administration, Transformative Teaching, Pedagogy and Environmental literacy, she has published extensively in reputable journals and edited several books.

A dedicated mentor, she has supervised over 35 Ph.D. candidates. Professor Modebelu is an active member of numerous academic, professional, and faith-based associations, including her role as a trustee of CACPE. Her commitment to Education, Research, and Community service has positioned her as a leading voice in Sustainable development and Climate action. A native of Anambra State, her leadership continues to inspire the next generation of Educators and Researchers, driving impactful change in education and environmental sustainability.

Executive 1

PROF KEMAL YİLDİRİM


HEAD, ADVISORY BOARD

Dr. Kemal Yildirim is a prolific scholar, author of 240 books, and a leading expert in human rights, cultural studies, and sustainable development. With dual PhDs in Comparative Politics and African Studies, and multiple post-doctorates in Human Rights, Immigration, and Latin American Studies, he brings a global perspective to climate action. Currently teaching at the European School of Law and Governance, Kosovo, he is also a Senior Researcher at Euro Med University.

Dr. Yildirim serves as President of the Beth Nahrain Mesopotamian Academy of Sciences and Arts and holds memberships in prestigious organizations like the Caribbean Academy of Sciences, UNESCO, and the World Society of Sustainable Energy Technologies. A film producer and polyglot, he integrates culture, education, and innovation to drive sustainable solutions. As head of the Advisory board, his expertise inspires transformative climate action and global collaboration.

JAMILA IBRAHIM MOHAMMED


HEAD, ADVISORY BOARD

Jamila Ibrahim Mohammad is an accomplished administrator and community development expert with extensive experience in the private health sector at state and LGA levels. A graduate of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, with a degree in Applied Chemistry, she has led and managed projects in Maternal and Neonatal Child Health (MNCH), Postpartum Family Planning Services (PPFP), Youth Adolescent Focus Groups, Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention (SMC), and Community Engagement.

As a results-driven leader, Jamila excels in administrative coordination, team management, and strategic planning. Her ability to streamline operations, enhance efficiency, and foster collaboration makes her an invaluable asset in organizational leadership. She is highly adaptable, detail-oriented, and committed to fostering a productive and goal-driven work environment.
With a passion for sustainability and climate action, Jamila integrates health, environmental resilience, and community engagement, ensuring that administrative processes align with broader development goals for lasting impact.

BLESSING TOKULAH ISAH


EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT

Blessing Tokulah Isah is a highly organized and proactive professional with expertise in administration, project coordination, and strategic planning. As an Executive Assistant, she brings strong leadership, communication, and multitasking skills to support high-level decision-making and organizational efficiency. She serves as the Project Manager for Revive Africa Initiative, a Non-Governmental Organization focused on impactful development, and is an advocate for positive change and good governance with the West Africa Youth Congress (WAYC). With a background in Industrial Chemistry from Bayero University, Kano (BUK), she has extensive experience in quality control and greenhouse farming.

She is the MD/CEO of Green Orbit Innovation LTD, a social enterprise that engages in Agriculture and innovations for food security and social impact. She is also the Hub Manager at Spark Lab Creativity and Innovation Hub in Nigeria, she fosters innovation and community growth. Passionate about humanitarianism, Blessing dedicates her time to community service, ensuring smooth operations, stakeholder engagement, and strategic execution in every role she takes on, driving meaningful change and impact.

DR. NIMISINGHA J. AMAKAMA


DIRECTOR OF PROGRAMS

Nimisingha Amakama is an expert in Disaster and Emergency Response Management, with a strong background in environmental sustainability and climate adaptation. As the Director of Programs at CACPE, he leads strategic initiatives that drive climate action, disaster resilience, and environmental advocacy. His research expertise spans Environmental Modelling, Environmental Toxicology, Waste water Treatment, Air & Water Quality Assessment, and Climate Change Adaptation.

He holds a PhD in Information & Communication Sciences (Disaster & Emergency Response Management) from IMT Mines Alés, France, an MSc in Environmental Engineering from the University of Strathclyde, UK, and a B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering from Rivers State University, Nigeria. A two-time PTDF Overseas Scholarship awardee, he is currently researching Agent-Based Modelling to predict disaster response impacts in hospital emergency departments.
Nimisingha brings a wealth of knowledge to CACPE, advancing policies and programs that foster environmental sustainability, community resilience, and climate-conscious development.

ALBERT G. UDOH


DIRECTOR OF PARTNERSHIPS AND RESOURCE MOBILIZATION

Albert G. Udoh is a business transformation strategist, serial entrepreneur, and resource mobilization expert with a background in pharmacy, corporate leadership, and strategic development. As the Director of Partnerships & Resource Mobilization at CACPE, he leverages his vast experience across healthcare, technology, environmental sciences, and renewable energy to build strong alliances that drive impactful climate action and sustainability initiatives.
He is the founder of the Aduek Organization, leading multiple subsidiaries in healthcare, waste management, and environmental sustainability. An international facilitator, mentor, and keynote speaker, he actively contributes to policy advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and fundraising strategies.

Albert is a Fellow of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (FNIMN) and a member of SEPAN, CACPE, Toastmasters International, and the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria. An alumnus of Lagos Business School and the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, he is deeply committed to advancing environmental transformation through strategic Partnerships.

ABDULLAHI BIRI MOHAMMED


DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS AND OUTREACH

Abdullahi Biri Mohammed is an environmental activist, climate advocate, and communications strategist with decades of experience in forestry, conservation, and community engagement. As Director of Communications & Outreach at CACPE, he leads awareness campaigns, stakeholder engagement, and public education on climate change adaptation and environmental sustainability.
A civil servant with the Yobe State Ministry of Environment, Abdullahi heads the Silviculture Unit, overseeing afforestation projects, seedling distribution, and deforestation monitoring. He has led community tree-planting initiatives, including the Great Green Wall project and Agro-Climate Resilience efforts.

He has volunteered with INGOs, MDAs, and CBOs, coordinating climate action programs. A member of FAN, WISON, NCF, CFA, and ISTF, he holds a B.Sc in Zoology (University of Maiduguri) and a PGD in Public Health. Passionate about advocacy and Public awareness, he drives CACPE’s mission by amplifying climate education and fostering Community resilience.

RASHIDA SULAIMAN


FINANCE AND ACCOUNTS OFFICER

Rashida Sulaiman is a finance professional with expertise in accounting, financial management, and budgeting. As the Finance & Accounts Officer at CACPE, she ensures transparency, efficiency, and accountability in financial operations, supporting the organization's climate action initiatives through effective resource management.
She has experience working with nonprofits, corporate finance, and development projects. Rashida specializes in financial reporting, grant management, and compliance, ensuring that funds are properly allocated and utilized for maximum impact.

With a keen eye for detail and analytical problem-solving skills, she plays a crucial role in financial planning, donor reporting, and internal audits. Passionate about sustainability and ethical finance, she integrates financial best practices with CACPE’s mission to drive climate resilience. Her dedication to fiscal responsibility and operational efficiency strengthens the organization's ability to deliver lasting environmental impact.

Climate Change Awareness

Empowering communities and schools, we inspire the next generation of environmental advocates through dynamic climate clubs and impactful workshops. By building environmental literacy, we promote sustainable practices, drive community engagement, and encourage collective efforts to address climate challenges, paving the way for a greener, more resilient future.

Tree Planting & Refforestation

CACPE State Team teamed up with Ramat Polytechnic Student Union and Zulum Go Green organization to tackle climate change and promote environmental sustainability in Maiduguri, Borno State. We embarked on an ambitious tree planting and reforestation project, spreading awareness and inspiring action among our youth. Our impact? Over 500 trees planted, reducing carbon footprint and cleansing the air we breathe! We also empowered over 300 students and community members with knowledge on environmental conservation. Together, we're cultivating a brighter future for Nigeria - one tree, one community at a time.

Awareness on Clean Energy

Empowering Our Future Leaders with Clean Energy. At CACPE, we inspire a sustainable future for Nigeria's next generation. Our State Team partnered with Government Girls Secondary Schools Bauchi. We introduced clean energy initiatives and promoted environmental stewardship. Climate change is real; collective action is necessary. We trained 200+ students and teachers on clean energy benefits. Climate change awareness and sustainable practices were emphasized. This collaboration enhanced education through sustainability. Empowering Nigerian youth to become sustainable leaders.

Fostering Environmental Sustainability in Abia State. At CACPE, we promote collaborative governance for a greener Nigeria. Our State Team engaged with the Ministry of Environment, Abia State, to advance sustainable practices. We facilitated policy advocacy and stakeholder engagement, bringing together government, private sector, and civil society. Climate action requires collective effort. We emphasized environmental conservation, solid waste management, and erosion control. This partnership enhanced environmental governance and sustainability awareness. Youth Environmental Empowerment

Empowering Students, Restoring the Environment, CACPE partners with UNIZIK Demonstration Secondary School Awka to enhance environmental sustainability, mitigate climate change. We reclaim degraded land, promote eco-friendly practices and planted 200+ trees. We improved school landscape and biodiversity, enhanced environmental awareness and contributed to climate change mitigation, empowering Anambra's youth to drive positive change.

Climate Education Empowerment

Empowering Katsina Communities through Climate Education, CACPE conducted an environmental literacy workshop at Government College Katsina to enhance climate resilience through education and build capacity for sustainable practices. 200+ community members, 50+ educators, 20+ local leaders, and school staff participated. We discussed on climate change impacts and mitigation, sustainable agriculture, waste management & recycling and environmental advocacy. We enhanced environmental awareness among 300+ participants, community-led initiatives established and partnerships with local stakeholders strengthened.

Supporting Abia's Youth for a Greener Future. At CACPE, we're cultivating environmental stewards among Nigeria's next generation. Our Abia State Team established climate clubs at Santa Cruz Secondary School, inspiring students to become eco-leaders. We educated and empowered the youth on climate action to build capacity for sustainable practices and environmental advocacy. We trained 200+ students on climate change mitigation, established school and community climate clubs.

Strategic Climate Partnership with American Space

Scaling Climate Action through Strategic Partnerships. At CACPE, we're amplifying climate impact through collaborative efforts. Our Bauchi State Team forged a strategic partnership with American Space, convening key stakeholders to drive climate action. The partnership was aimed to enhance collective impact on climate mitigation and adaptation to foster synergy among stakeholders for local, national, regional, and global climate action. We engaged 50+ stakeholders in environment (ShE) sector, we facilitated workshops on climate best practices and principles, established a climate action network for knowledge sharing and developed joint initiatives for sustainable development resulted to strengthened partnerships with ShE stakeholders, enhanced capacity for climate action among stakeholders and amplified climate advocacy and awareness in Bauchi State.
